Introduction to the Dagr Pit Light -
The Dagr was designed as a work light solution that is mobile and utilitarian, it can be used on your workbench at home or in your shop or you can take it on the road. It adds to your usable work area by providing a top deck to store items (more about that below). I have tested the Dagr in my own personal work shop on a 24”x8’ workbench, in our mobile workshop van and at the track on a pit table.
Features:
Height - The Dagr measures 17” from the work-surface to the bottom of the light fixture and an addtional 1-1/4” inches to the Top Deck surface, (19-1/4”)
Width - The inside measurement of the Dagr is 36-7/8” Wide. We designed the Dagr so that it is slightly larger than our Original Pit Mat which measures to 36” Wide.
Foot Print - Overall Depth / Foot Print is 8-1/4” (at the widest points of the feet)
Top Deck - The Dagr will accommodate (2) 8th Scale or (2) 10th Scale RC Cars. We will include 8 Chassis Lugs in the kit. These chassis lugs help keep your cars on the Dagr in case your table or light is bumped. I found that with 2 AE 10th and 8th Scale cars I did not need to move the lugs.
Weight - The Dagr as Sold weighs 4 Lbs 13 Ozs
Overall Length - Overall at its widest points the Dagr measures 42-1/4”
Storage - The Dagr can be folded and strapped with its buckles or your can leave it standing.
Assembly - Assbemly is required as it comes as a kit.
Carbon Fiber Name Plates - We are upgrading the stamped steel name plates for carbon fiber name plates. Those might also ship after the frist batch ships. TBD on this one as well.
Serialized Name Plate - EVERY Dagr Pit Light WILL come with a serialized name plate. Name plates are made from aluminum that is black anodized and engraved to a unique serial for each light. A hardware pack will be included so you bolt the name plate to your Dagr or keep it on the shelf. UPDATED >> The serialzed plates will now ship with all pre orders, batch 1 and 2. We will track internally who gets which number, sorry no dibs. Dagr’s serial numbers are now at #8 for the next order, updated Friday the 26th of August.
First Upgrade Coming Soon - We will be offering carbon fiber plates, same as the name plates but longer. This upgrade will come as a pack of 4 and each plate will measure .700”x8.00” and be 2mm thick. These are dressing plates that can be left plain or can be used for your sponsor decals.
More About the Dagr -
Your Dagr will come in kit form with all of the necessary pieces to assemble. Even an Oops Kit of extra hardware. We will provide an instructional video and are also planning to have supplemental written instructions that follow the video. Simple tools are required for assembly, 2.5mm and 3.0mm hex wrenches (ball and straight end depending on preference), needle nose pliers, measuring device (calipers or measuring tape) and a large flat work area. If you have an RC Raceworx Pit Mat that will help keep your hardware organized!
One notable feature about the folding leg deign for the Dagr is that it is asymmetrical. This allows the user to upgrade to longer legs and not require any other frame modifications to allow for longer legs. At full collapse, each leg will pass by each other, effectively allowing you to run up to 36” long legs. Longer leg upgrades to come later.
Never locking pivots. In order to keep your Dagr reliable we went with a never locking design for the pivots. Each pivot face features a wear bushing that is pre greased. The never locking design allows for the extended life against wear and tare of the pivot. The provided levers will get your pivots tight, but there is no ‘bind’ or locking mechanism. As a side note, the pivots come prebuilt with flat head screws on each side. This seems to help during assembly and we have found provides more of a ‘bind’ on the pivots for those needing a stiffer pivot or those not needing adjusting levers. The adjusting levers are spring loaded to allow for clocking after tight.
The Dagr features a genuine Sylvania 36” LED shop light with fixture. It is operated on/off by a chain switch, has a 120v 2-prong linkable outlet on the opposite end. One very handy feature is the linkable outlet stays hot (live with power) even when you turn off your Dagr. This allows you to continue using that outlet while the light is off. The linkable feature allows you to charge low watt items such as your smart phone or RC transmitter. Or… link another Dagr to yours.
In dry conditions your Dagr is ok to use outside. Keep in mind the light fixture we chose is an indoor fixture so be careful using it outside.
